Supreme court summons Imran Khan in disqualification case

Supreme court of Pakistan has summoned PTI chief Imran Khan in disqualification case filed by PMLN’s Hanif Abbasi. Chief Justice of Pakistan observed that there were some lacunae that needed to be filled.

The supreme court inquired about the whereabouts of Anwar Mansoor, the council representing Imran Khan in the case. PTI’s Naeem Bukhari informed the apex court that Anwar Mansoor was on leave till 15th August.

Chief justice told Naeem Bukhari that Anwar Mansoor had promised the court that he would be back by 29th July. “We too sacrifice our holidays to hear this case”, observed Chief Justice.

Naeem Bukhari requested permission from the court to file reply in court instead of Anwar Mansoor. Chief justice replied that it’s not only a matter of submitting a reply, Anwar Mansoor will have to present the case as well.

After hearing all the arguments Chief Justice of Pakistan summoned Imran Khan to appear before the court and present his reply himself.
