JIT Report: Ishaq Dar did not pay any tax from 1982 to 2002

JIT’s final report submitted before Supreme Court today claims that finance minister Ishaq Dar did not submit any tax returns between 1982 till 2002.

The report also claims that Mr. Dar gave his own organization 17 crore in charity and wrote off tax in return.

Mr. Ishaq Dar is said to have received huge gifts from his sons in Dubai and the incredible increase in his assets since 2008 can not be tallied with his known sources of income.

The absence of tax returns from 1982 till 2002 is a big question mark on the credibility of the finance minister since it shows he did not pay any tax in this period. The matter becomes more important because Mr. Dar remained a finance minister from 6th November 1998 till 12th October 1999.
