Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visits Miranshah of North Waziristan

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reached capital of North Waziristan, Miranshah. This is a one day tour in which prime minister will be briefed about the progress of the Zarb-e-Azb operation.

Chief of Army Staff general Raheel Sharif was also present on this occasion. He welcomed prime minister on his visit to Miranshah and briefed him on the overall progress of North Waziristan operation.

Miranshah was the first area that was cleared from the terrorists when the Zarb-e-Azb operation first started in June.

Prime minister appreciated the sacrifices of Pakistan Army and said that the whole country was behind army in this difficult time. “The success of this operation is the success of Pakistan”, said prime minister.

Governor KP Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar and Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch also accompanied the prime minister on his visit to Miranshah. 

It is the first ever visit of any Pakistani prime minister to Miranshah.

On the other, US Drones continue to pound hideouts of militants from the last five days. At least 35 people are reported dead during the these latest strikes.
