Political MQM vs Militant MQM

Political MQM vs Militant MQM

An unanticipated move, no less than a shocker it was when SSP Malir Rao Anwar lashed out at MQM finally pronouncing (which was whispered by many and voiced by few courageous ones in past) that the party is a terrorist organisation and should be banned like other outfits such as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban.

SSP Anwar further stated that he had solid evidence to prove such allegations owing to the recent confessions of two arrested convicts. He claimed that Zulfiqar Haider and Nadeem Nusrat, the deputy convener of MQM, have been funding the terrorist activities from London.

Just recently a rangers raid in Nine-Zero vicinity, various felons such as Nadir (convicted and sentenced 13 years), Faisal Mota (convicted killer of journalist Wali Khan Babar), Amir, Farhan Shabbir alias Mullah and Ubaid K2 were arrested. The arrest of such dangerous target killers and terrorists from Nine-Zero is a clear-cut indication of the integrity above-mentioned allegations.

Furthermore during the raid, a large cache of weapons were also confiscated along with the recovery of illegal and banned weaponry that actually were the weapons stolen sometime back from NATO containers. This further proves the dodgy and dubious matters of the so-called ‘champs of Muhajirs’.

But the ground-breaking evidence has been the recorded statement of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) ex-worker Saulat Mirza who is on a death row for killing 13 people. He declared in front of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) that the MQM is funded and trained by Indian intelligence agency RAW.  He further claimed that its Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) – the welfare organization of MQM – is a frontend for all such illicit activities.

The MQM leaders continuously deny all such allegations and call it a terrible plot to sabotage MQM by discrediting its leadership in the eyes of the public.

For a second, let us just say that a layman can believe that the presence of some illicit taking cover in nine zero vicinity was a mere coincidence or that the weapons recovered was all a setup  (as claimed by Altaf Hussain). But then how come every suspect that is or has been involved in some illegal activities or target killing has or had ties with MQM? How come MQM is always on the receiving end with all the trails of dead bodies pointing in their direction?

Even the most naive soul knows that a first time may be coincidence; a benefit of doubt could be given the second time, but when it happens again and again it reeks of a pattern that says MQM is the reason of chaos and massive target killings in Karachi. They cannot always save their skin by posing as the innocent victims caught in crossfires between the constabularies and convicts.

Additionally, the orders of suspension of SSP Rao Anwar by PPP Sindh government for exposing Altaf Hussein’s gang further corroborates the fact that the MQM always plays dirty and is helped out by PPP whenever the party is in a difficult situation. Following the suspension orders however, the SSP’s kith and kin might be praying that only orders of suspension and not a “Borri” has been issued.

Having said all this, it is a fact that the party has some very decent people who truly care for the well-being of the people of Karachi. They are however, caught in the dirty labyrinth of vice and terror created and masterminded by its autocratic leader Altaf Hussain. It is thus up to such democratic segment of the MQM to decide where they want to take their party, a voice of democracy or a voice of terror.

It is now a fight between Political MQM and Militant MQM. The question is, who is going to prevail?
