Pakistan Releases 138 Indian Fishermen

Indian Prisoners released by Pakistan

Pakistan released 138 Indian fishermen on Sunday from Landhi jail in Karachi as a goodwill gesture, Radio Pakistan reported.

The released fishermen will reach Lahore through Allama Iqbal Express train, and will be handed over to Indian officials at Wagah border.

The release took place because of the recent meeting of Pakistani Prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi.

The two leaders have issued a joint statement with a number of steps which should be taken in order to improve the relationship between the two countries.
