Nawaz Sharif takes oath as Prime Minister for the third time

Nawaz SharifPMLN chief Nawaz Sharif took oath as Prime Minister of Pakistan for the third time. A total of 244 members of the national assembly voted in favour of Mr. Sharif. Upon selection, he thanked all honourable members of the assembly who voted for him and also those who didn’t vote for him.

Mr. Nawaz Sharif returned as a prime minister after 13 years. In October 1999, he was ousted by the then Army general,  Pervez Musharraf. During these years he spent most of his time in exile in Saudi Arabia. He came back to Pakistan in 2007. His party took part in the 2008 general elections but it couldn’t secure much seats. They forged an alliance with the PPPP and were in government for some time but later withdrew due to some differences over policies. In 2013 elections, his party took majority seats which landed him in prime minister house for the third time.

On this occasion, Mr, Sharif said that he didn’t want to show false paradise to any one. He said the country’s financial situation was quite worrisome and all had to work together to drive Pakistan out of those miseries. He further said that he respected the mandate of each party and would fairly treat every provincial government.
