Fasih Bukhari Appointment termed unlawful

Fasih BukhariThe Supreme Court  of Pakistan has termed NAB(National Accountability Bureau) chief appointment as unlawful. The court ordered that an appropriate replacement should be brought in due course of time. Mr. Bukhari was also facing contempt of court case for not taking any action against the former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf over the controversial rental power projects.

A petition was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan by Choudry Nisar in which it had been complained that he had not been consulted over the appointment of Mr. Bukhari as it was required by law. Mr. Nisar was opposition leader at that time and according to the constitution of Pakistan, it is mandatory that opposition leader be consulted when appointing NAB chief.

The order came from the court of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jelani in which it was said that the court did not find Mr. Bukhari’s appointment as fulfilling rules of law and thus the court termed this appointment as unlawful. The court instructed the Federal government to induct a new chief without wasting any more time.
