Prime minister of the caretaker government, Mr. Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has put a ban on the use of CNG(Compressed Natural Gas) by vehicles of 1000CC or above. The Ministry of Petroleum had sent a Summary to the Prime Minister in this regard. There was no word of the Summary being sent to the Prime Minister until it was signed and came into effect.

Prime Minister Khoso ordered that it must be ensured that no vehicle of 1000 CC or above gets CNG in any gas station. The Ministry of Petroleum was given point blank directives in this regard. A fine of 50,000 should be levied against any CNG owner if they were found filling CNG in a vehicle that was more than 1000CC.

However, All Pakistan CNG Association has rejected this ban and its President Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha vowed not to let the caretaker government implement these orders. It was not the mandate of a caretaker government to bring such laws, he said.
