Pakistan Awami Tehreek is holding its Abbottabad Jalsa today where Dr. Tahir ul Qadri addresses a huge gathering. It is the first time since last year’s general elections that any political party would hold a public rally in KP.

Dr. Qadri’s holding of a public rally in KP is seen by many political experts to be his attempt of a solo flight without taking into consideration his ally Tehreek-e-Insaf, the ruling party in the province.

Dr. Qadri was warmly welcomed by his party workers in Abbottabad. He, on this occasion, said that his Inquilab movement would continue till the formation of a national government.

Hazara province movement leader, Baba Haider Zaman, while addressing the rally said that people were fed-up with the current system. He said people very committing suicide due to poverty. “This system must be changed for Pakistan to progress towards prosperity”, said Baba Haider Zaman.

In terms of security, KP government has deployed 700 police personnel in and around the rally ground. Also, four walk-through gates have been placed for people entering the ground.

The other, Dr. Qadri announced an end to his 75-day-long dharna in Islamabad terming it the completion of phase one of Inquilab movement and the start of phase two. The second phase would include holding large rallies in different cities of Pakistan.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan had expressed his disappointment over this decision of Dr. Qadri but he congratulated him for his struggle and for spending 75 days in Islamabad. “I am sad but, on behalf of PTI, I want to congratulate Dr. Qadri and his workers for spending 75 in Islamabad”, said Imran Khan.
