The governing body of PCB(Pakistan Cricket Board) has elected Zaka Ashraf as the chairman of board for four years, starting from today. The decision came as a unanimous one in favour of Mr. Ashraf who was previously working as a nominated chairman of PCB.

According to ICC(International Cricket Council) it was mandatory that all cricketing boards transform themselves to a democratic setup. Each official of the board has to be elected democratically. It is therefore the first ever time that PCB has an elected chairman. The performance of Zaka Ashraf was quite impressive during his tenure as a nominated chairman that is why he was unanimously voted as the first ever elected chairman of the cricket board of Pakistan.
