PTI’s Mianwali Jalsa today; next stop to be Multan

Mianwali Jalsa

Tehreek-e-Insaf’s tsunami is hitting Mianwali today. It is going to be third public rally of PTI in the area. Mianwali Jalsa is important for the party because it is the home ground of its chief, Imran Khan.

“I am going to play on my home ground today”, said Imran Khan before setting off for Mianwali from his Islamabad residence at Bani Gala.

Mianwali Jalsa was announced by Imran Khan during his historic Lahore Jalsa last Sunday. Party officials are confident that they will be able to attract a large crowd in their rally today.

After todays rally next stop of PTI is going to be Multan where by-elections are being held in NA-149 constituency which became vacant after Javed Hashmi’s resignation. Last night Javed Hashmi also resigned as president of Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Javed Hashmi is contesting as an independent candidate from the same constituency and have requested PMLN leadership to campaign for him. Hashmi has been severely criticizing PTI since his departure. Thus, the success or failure of Multan Jalsa will have a lot of importance for all stakeholders such as PTI, PMLN, Javed Hashmi.

UPDATES:

A huge number of people took part in Mianwali Jalsa today. It is being termed as the biggest rally in the history of Mianwali.

The most unbelievable part of the rally was the huge number of women who participated in the rally. It is unprecedented in the history of Mianwali because women of the area usually don’t even go to markets to buy their household stuff. But today’s participation of women in PTI’s Jalsa show the level of trust Imran Khan and his party enjoys among the common people of Pakistan.

Imran Khan on this occasion apologized to the people of Mianwali for not being able to give them proper time. “I could not give you time because I have been fighting whole Pakistan’s war against this corrupt system”,  said Imran Khan while explaining the reason why he could not give time.
