Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif meets flood affectees at Wazirabad

Nawaz Sharif

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited flood affected areas at Wazirabad and addressed affectees there. He vowed his government would do whatever it can to help all flood affectees in a speedy manner.

Prime Minister also appreciated the role of Pakistan Army in helping people affected by the floods. “I want to appreciate our armed forces for their valuable and timely help”, he said.

Nawaz Sharif announced 25,000 per person relief package which he called a mere first installment. “Every person will receive 25,000 before Eid”, said prime minister.

Prime Minister also appreciated the role of Chief Minister Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif, and thanked him for his valuable work.

However, just outside the premises where prime minister was delivering his speech, many flood-affected people had gathered and were chanting Go Nawaz Go. Police was having a hard time managing the crowd.

People chanting Go Nawaz Go slogans said that prime minister addressed his party workers and true flood affectees were totally ignored.

Prime Minister swiftly went away after finishing his speech.

Tauseef Butt, a PMLN MPA, said those chanting Go Nawaz Go were hired goons. He, along with his party workers, assaulted the protesters to disperse them. He also blamed a private television, ARY, of being involved in instigating people.
