Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Skardu where he was briefed about the extent of loss occurred to people, buildings and animals due to the recent floods.

After taking an aerial view of the surrounding areas using a helicopter, prime minister addressed a gathering of the flood affected people and announced Rs 500 million for the reestablishment of infrastructure and treatment of communication links on urgent basis..

He appreciated the joint efforts of the Pakistan Army, Gilgit-Baltistan government and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in providing timely relief to the affected people.
