President Zardari Calls PTI Chief Imran Khan

President ZardariPresident Asif Ali Zardari called PTI Chief Imran Khan on Tuesday and enquired about his health. He prayed for Imran Khan’s health and wished that Imran Khan continue with his political career soon after leaving the hospital. Imran Khan is set to be discharged from Shoukat Khanum Hospital tomorrow.

Imran Khan has time and again severely criticized President Zardari and it wasn’t highly expected that he would receive a call from the President. However, as it is a custom of the country, that no matter how fierce the opposition be for one another, once someone faces an accident as Imran Khan did, everyone else have to enquire about their opponent’s health.

President Zardari had earlier blamed local and international agencies of working against PPP(Pakistan People’s Party) and stealing its mandate. He said that his party could have won 40 to 50 seats in Punjab but it was not allowed to do so. He said that a few of his policies had not gone well with some foreign friends and that is why his party was sidelined in the May 11, 2013 elections. According to analysts, he was referring to Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline project and the handing over of Gawadar Port to China.
