Nawaz Sharif terms Shahbaz claims of ending power crises a gimmick

PMLN chief and Prime Minister Elect Mr. Nawaz Sharif said that the claim of his brother to end power crises in two years was just an election campaign gimmick. He explained that sometimes, in the frenzied moments of election campaigns, one says things which otherwise should have been avoided.

Nawaz Sharif while addressing a conference of newly elected PMLN candidates said that he loved the way Shahbaz Sharif delivered his speeches. The way he throws away all the microphones was something really enjoyable, he said further. However, Shahbaz’s claim of ending power crises in two years was just a statement delivered in the heat of a moment. No time frame could be given in this regard, however, efforts will be done to fix that problem as soon as possible, he explained further.

It should be remembered here that Shahbaz Sharif claimed on multiple occasions that PMLN, upon coming to power, will end the power crises in about two years. Also, in their Television advertisements these claims of Mr. Shahbaz Sharif were aired. However, now after getting the mandate of the people of Pakistan, Mr. Nawaz Sharif seems to have backtracked from his party’s official stance. It is also interesting to note that while Shahbaz Sharif continued promising people that PMLN would end power crises in two years, Nawaz Sharif did not explain at that time that his brother was just an emotional speaker and his words were not to be taken seriously. But now when the elections are over and PMLN has emerged as a victorious party, Nawaz Sharif has backtracked from his promise to the people of Pakistan.
