Here’s How You Can Cheat With Sweets on a Diet

Although cookies, candies and other types of sweets are definitely not in the list of products that promote weight loss, you can still cheat with sweets.

Researchers from an international scientific group have proven that there is a way to eat sweets for those who want to lose weight.

Here's How You Can Cheat With Sweets on a Diet

Researchers at the Tilburg University in the Netherlands and the Catholic university in Portugal claim that sweets can help you get rid of excess weight. However, according to the researchers, it’s all about planning to eat sweets before actually doing it.

Planning to treat yourself to sweets while on a diet give the person an emotional kick and boost the motivation, which helps him/her continue sticking to the diet in the long-term.

The researchers studied 36 men and women with excess weight. As a result of the study, it was concluded that those participants who treated themselves to sweets once a week were more disciplined in terms of sticking to the weight loss plan.

In particular, these participants had a more powerful motivation to lose weight and possessed a more stable emotional state compared to the other group, which was strictly following weight loss plans without cheating with sweets.

It must be noted that it’s not the first time that researchers prove that the consumption of sweets actually helps lose weight. There was even a study, which found that a complete avoidance of sweets is bad for the process of losing weight: 65% of those who completely abandoned sweets in order to have a beautiful body gained back the weight that they’d lost.
