The family in the Western world is no longer the basic unit of a society or the first school of social and moral education of children. The woman in the West is also no longer what she was supposed to be – a mother, an educator. Western society fell under a terrible social, moral and spiritual impact and turned into a struggling community without much regard interpersonal relationships or friendships. The society is flooded by the poison of materialism, immorality, that in turn has resulted in mental restlessness and disorientation.

Materialistic philosophies and twisted ideas about freedom and lack of moral values have shaken the sacred relationship between women and men. It has introduced some alien moral standards when it comes to how both sexes see each other. All this is seriously damaging the Western family and threatening every aspect of the western society.

Marriage, which used to be considered the most sacred form of relationship between a man and a woman, has lost all its charm for the western society. Extramarital relationships are in fashion, as according to a survey, nine out of every ten persons are living an extramarital life. During last ten years, only one in five couples has sought to formally legalized marriage. In France, for example, only 150 thousand out of the total number of 450 thousand couples submitted an application for the registration of a civil marriage. The figures are expected to continue to see an upward surge due to the weakness of the overall social fabric of western society.

The Western society is very fond of what is called a free relationship, and it has become a widespread fashion in almost all Western countries. They have embraced the term “mothers without husbands”. More than half of women in the here are holding on to this same twisted idea as around 53% of mothers decide to have their first child outside the institution of a family. The percentage of non-marital births in the West reaches up to forty percent of the total number of registered births.

The number of illegitimate births is steadily increasing. The society seems to have turned into a society of foundlings, of abandoned children. New but depressing terms have evolved such as a lonely child, and a lone mother,  all without a roof over their head.

All this is a by-product of such unrestrained relationships which have disfigured the established structure of western society, and has destroyed the concept of family as the basic social cell that connects men and women. As a strong family system not only gives protection to the offspring but also ensures the survival of the human species.

When discussing familial disintegration in the Western society, we in fact, are talking about the past. As currently not only are we facing the problem of disintegration, but a danger of complete disappearance of the concept of the family. A new phenomenon has begun to attack Western society from its very core – a new definition of family, the institution of relationship between two men or two women. Even laws have been passed to legalize a relationship between same sexes.

So on one hand, when the concept of institution of marriage between same man and women is eroding, efforts are being made to promote and legalize same-sex marriages. This in simple words means complete destruction of the family system as we know it, or more accurately, as our forefathers knew it.

It seems that the West is rushing towards total darkness, the complete destruction of human morals and values system, and is approaching towards the doomsday of familial relationships. The ever increasing trend of promiscuous relationships has created a “cocktail society” whose members are only interested in satisfying their personal wishes and whims with complete disregard for other members of the society. The future of western societies hence is in great danger – this is all a consequence of the removal of spiritual and religious values from our lives.
