There is no doubt that children are the future of a country but due to financial issues some children, who otherwise are supposed to be studying in a school, are forced to earn a living. Child labor has become a worldwide phenomena, especially in developing countries. While some countries have taken appreciable steps to protect children from being used as labors, there is still a lot to be done.

Europe for example, has not only banned child labor but come up with a policy which bars having trade relations with countries which are involved with child labor. In Pakistan however, this problem is rapidly increasing and no potent steps are being taken to stop it.

The massive increase in the child labor in Pakistan is due to the overall poor economic condition of the country. The prices of different commodities are continually increasing while there are few opportunities to earn enough money to get necessary food for the family.

In such a situation it becomes impossible for such parents to send their children to school. They are forced to drop their children from school and put them on work to make a living.

Since Pakistan emerged on the map of the world, successive governments have made numerous promises and have started many projects to finish child labor but there has been no positive result. The problem seems to be the same even after 69 years of the country’s existence.

The government should take concrete steps and make sure that every child in the country gets proper education. Government should also enforce fine on those who keep children as workers so that this problem can be minimized.
