Spring and Spring Festivals

The day Lord created hope was probably the same day He created spring. (Bernard Williams)

Nature wears a kind look in this season. We see greenery everywhere. All the trees and plants are in bloom. The crops get ripen and fields look colorful. Birds, animals, and humans alike feel an unexplainable type of happiness. All feel energetic and full of life. The pervasive greenery gives a message of life. It is but due to all these qualities that spring is known as king of the seasons. A season of life, a season of hope as Bernard Williams put it so well.

Spring is nature’s way of saying, Lets party! (Robin Williams)

Spring festivals represent the desire for a new life. Festivals play an important role in the cultural celebration. Our festivities also bring us closer to one another and give us a chance to interact with each other in an informal way.

Celebrating spring festivals  also promotes communal harmony and leads to effective socialization. We get some time out of our normal routine and provide us with a refreshing change from routine. It is very important to know about our culture and past, and festivals in one way or the other serve the purpose so well.

Spring festivals also allow us  to take a break from our monotonous routine because everyone seems to be involved in their routine activities and there is no time left for ourselves, for our friends and for our family. Festivals serve as a bridge in connecting us with ourselves, friends and family and gives us a chance to interact with the community.

In this beautiful season several festivals are organized in many cities of Pakistan. It is through these festivals that people forget about their tensions and can feel fresh. Different cultures of Pakistan are represented in these festivals. Basant is one of the beautiful festival in this season. Lok Virsa organizes beautiful festival each year in Islamabad which represent different cultures of Pakistan. These type of festivals should be arranged because they are good for people to not only learn about different cultures, but an opportunity to relax and recuperate.
