Schlepping The Economy by Turning Black to White

“Invest 25 million or more and you won’t be asked any questions about the source of this money”, says the newly introduced amnesty package of Nawaz government. A pretty good chance if you have some black money and want to whiten it. Here in this article we are going to look at different ways through which our evil brethren could easily whiten their black monies and come into the mainstream.

First of all, by now we all know that Dr. Munaf Tareen, a famous cardiologist who was abducted for ransom, has been released after paying 50 million rupees. We want to reach out to his former captors, and request them to bring the money and invest it in any public sector company. Become good citizens of Pakistan. The government of Pakistan will protect your privacy. You should be rest assured that no questions would be asked from you.

Are you a bank robber? Have you successfully robbed different banks of Pakistan? Is the total robbed amount equal to 25 million or more? If your answer to these questions is YES then Look no further, bring your hard earned money to the amnesty scheme. Let bygones be bygones.

Finally, a humble message to our politicians, bureaucrats and all those who have “EARNED” from the government of Pakistan. We know lockers and even cupboards of your homes are filled with cash money. Why let it rot there? Protect your money and invest it in your beloved country’s economy. Your country needs you.

It is absurd and rather shameful that we as a country have to condescend to this level and float such amnesty schemes to improve our economy. The only prophylactic remedy for the revival of our economy that the ingenious government could think of was to ask for help from the dacoits, and the corrupt.

The scheme shows that Nawaz government is fraught with confusion. Just recently the government reached an agreement with IMF for fresh loan. Not for improving the economy but for paying back earlier debts. US Dollar is touching 110. Our economy is all about taking debts to repay debts.

This unprecedented economic situation of the country needs unprecedented decisions. Tax collection process must be made foolproof. Only 2% of the country pay their taxes. Instead of focusing on GST(General Sales Tax) to squeeze the public even further, the government should focus on levying tax on the rich who don’t pay any tax on their earnings and wealth. Starting with the list of those 3 million rich people, pin pointed by NADRA, would be a good start.
