Dr. Tahir ul Qadri, chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has announced an end to his 67 days long sit-in in Islamabad. He announced holding of a two-day long sit-in in every city of Pakistan. “I announce to expand our movement to the whole country”, said Dr. Qadri while explaining his decision.
Rumors were rife from some days that Dr. Tahir ul Qadri might call off his Islamabad dharna any time. He was expected to announce it in his Lahore Jalsa however for some unknown reasons he delayed his decision.
Dr. Qadri said that he had intended a change of government but his movement has changed the minds of the people of Pakistan. However, he explained that an end to Islamabad sit-in didn’t mean an end to his Inquilab movement.
“Our movement will continue till the formation of a national government”, he explained.
He also rubbished all reports of a secret Dubai deal with Nawaz government.
On the other hand, Arif Alvi, a senior leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf, said that his party will continue its sit-in on the constitutional avenue of Islamabad. “We are staying till the end”, said a determined Arif Alvi.
